Three people were arrested Monday afternoon following a vehicle pursuit in Marshall County.

According to Kentucky State Police, a trooper attempted to stop a car about 9 pm on Highway 68 in Marshall County because the driver was not using the car's headlights. Instead of stopping, the driver accelerated and led police on a pursuit for about 10 miles, until the car crashed on Highway 1422.

The driver, who was identified as 32-year-old Jonathan C. Cash of Ledbetter, was airlifted to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville for treatment of his injuries. When he was released, he was arrested on an outstanding warrant for a Kentucky probation violation. Police are obtaining a warrant for charges related to the pursuit.

Two passengers in the car were treated at Marshall County Hospital, then arrested. Police say 25-year-old Zachary Bonn and 21-one year old Kealy McCalester, both of Paducah, were charged with 1st degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), 1st degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), and possession of marijuana.

Bonn and McCalester were taken to Marshall County Detention Center.

Marshall County Sheriff's Department, Benton Police Department, Calvert City Police Department, Marshall County Ambulance, Air Evac, and East Marshall Fire Department assisted in the pursuit and/or at the scene of the crash.
