Lake City Traffic Stop Ends in Scuffle with Police
By Jeremy Newberry
LIVINGSTON COUNTY, KY - Around 6pm Saturday night, state troopers stopped a vehicle in Lake City, KY when the driver, Dean Bourgault, 53, of Lake City, exited the vehicle and fled on foot.  A state K-9 unit and Livingston County deputies tracked Bourgault for several hundred yards before losing his trail.

Early Sunday, a  local citizen called about a prowler in the same area Bourgault was last seen.  Officers found the suspect hiding in a vehicle. After ordering Bourgault out of the vehicle, he began to fight both officers.  Using non-lethal force, the officers restrained Bourgault, who was transported to Lourdes Hospital, treated, released, and lodged in the McCracken County Jail.  Both officers received minor injuries, but needed no medical attention.

Bourgault faces multiple charges including the execution of a warrant out of Lyon County for receiving stolen property under 10,000, fleeing or evading police, and 3 counts of assault of a police officer.

Monica Harris, 41, of Lake City was a passenger in the vehicle and was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
