The Benton Police Department says an officer conducted a traffic stop Sunday night on Ash Street for a headlight violation. Upon contacting the driver, Tracy McLeod of Benton, the officer said he detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
The officer later learned that McLeod had a suspended license and an active arrest warrant. During a search of McLeod and her vehicle, the officer allegedly found some syringes with suspected methamphetamine.
McLeod was arrested on the warrant and on charges of operating on a suspended license, one headlight, failure to produce an insurance card, possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance. She was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.
