Traffic Stop Leads to Wingo Man's Arrest

MAYFIELD - A traffic stop in Mayfield Saturday led to a man's arrest on methamphetamine and other charges.

The Mayfield Police Department said officers stopped a vehicle with expired registration plates. The driver of the vehicle, 38-year-old Louis Schwenk of Wingo, fled from the vehicle on foot, but was apprehended shortly thereafter near an apartment complex.

Schwenk was arrested and lodged in the Graves County Jail. He's charged with no registration plates, no registration receipt, fleeing or evading police, resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine, license to be in possession and operating on a suspended or revoked license.

Schwenk was also arrested on four active warrants out of Graves County for failure to appear and failure to comply with pre-trial diversion.
