A trial date was set Wednesday for a former deputy accused of theft from a juvenile services agency.

WKDZ reports that Steve Tucker was in Christian Circuit Court, where Judge Andrew Self set a pre-trial conference for September 19, with a trial set to begin February 4, 2019.

Tucker is charged with theft by unlawful taking between $10,000 and $1 million. Kentucky State Police say he stole $55,000 from the Christian County Juvenile Services Foundation when he served as its President.

He was suspended in November and resigned from his job as deputy at the beginning of February, after Sheriff Livy Leavell received information about the alleged theft, which he then turned over to Kentucky State Police investigators.
