Trigg County Crash Claims Life of Cadiz Man

State police are investigating an early Sunday morning crash in Trigg County that killed a Cadiz man.

Kentucky State Police Troopers said their preliminary investigation showed 26-year-old Matthew Lambruno was driving east on Kings Chapel Road at around 6 a.m. when his vehicle ran off the road. His vehicle then hit an embankment and overturned several times.

Lambruno was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected during the collision. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Trigg County Coroner. 

A passenger in the vehicle, 31-year-old Trevor T. Saunders of Cadiz was taken by ambulance to Trigg County Hospital and later flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center for the treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Troopers say they believe speed and alcohol were factors in the crash. An autopsy is scheduled at the Medical Examiner’s Office in Madisonville.
