Two Arrested After Mayfield Shooting

MAYFIELD, KY - A shooting in Mayfield Wednesday led to two arrests.

According to the Mayfield Police Department, officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 200 block of North 8th Street. Officers said 21-year-old Mason L. West of Mayfield, was involved in an altercation that led to him firing a weapon at another person, who police said was fleeing the scene.

West was charged with attempted assault, three counts of wanton endangerment, criminal abuse - child 12 or under, trafficking in marijuana (firearm enhanced) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers searched Mason's apartment, which led to the arrest of his girlfriend, 20-year-old Elizabeth Bodeau. Bodeau is charged with trafficking in marijuana (firearm enhanced) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both West and Bodeau were lodged in the Graves County Jail. Police said the case is still under investigation, as to what caused the initial argument, and more charges are anticipated.
