A report about a forged check at a local bank Friday afternoon resulted in the arrest of two Mayfield women.

Mayfield Police officers and detectives responded to a bank on Paris Road after getting a report of several people in a vehicle trying to pass off a forged check in the bank's drive-thru.

Officers stopped the vehicle and found the driver, 29-year-old Heather Cole, had a suspended license and a warrant for her arrest. They said a passenger in the vehicle, 27-year-old Cynthia M. Caldwell, had a forged check, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and marijuana.

Caldwell and Cole were taken to Graves County Jail. Cole was arrested for driving on a DUI suspended license, and on a prior bench warrant for failure to appear on a theft charge.

Caldwell is charged with second degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana.
