Marshall County Sheriff's Department received a tip on Tuesday about someone selling prescription drugs. During the investigation, a deputy pulled over 70-year-old Eugene Willis of Paducah, who had just left the home mentioned in the tip. The deputy, along with a detective, found multiple pill bottles in the vehicle's console and in the back seat.
Willis told them he had just left the home of 71-year-old Dorris Knick of Benton, and they learned he was dropping off pills to other people. Further investigation confirmed to both officers that Willis had purchased 120 Lortab pills from Knick for $600. The detective spoke to Knick, and the money used to make the purchase was recovered. She also revealed that she had just filled her prescription that day.
Willis was arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance 2nd degree, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance 1st degree. Knick was also arrested, charged with trafficking in a controlled substance 2nd degree. They were both taken to the Marshall County Detention Center.
