Two Hurt in Calloway County Crash

CALLOWAY CO, KY - Two Murray residents were hurt in a Wednesday morning crash on State Route 121.

At around 10:50 am Wednesday the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a crash with possible injuries at the intersection of State Route 121 South and Murray Paris Road.

Police said 32-year-old Jamie Williams, of Murray was southbound Route 121 when the vehicle in front of him went to make a right hand turn onto Murray Paris Road. Williams went around the vehicle as it was turning and crossed into the path of 62-year-old Norma Whitesell, also of Murray.

Police said Williams was thrown from his motorcycle. Whitesell’s vehicle continued northbound until it went off the opposite shoulder of the roadway and struck a pole. She had to be removed from her vehicle by Murray Fire Department Rescue.

Both victims were taken to Murray Calloway County Hospital E.R. for their injuries. Williams was later airlifted to Vanderbilt Medical center for further treatment.
