Two Injured in Calloway County Collision

CALLOWAY COUNTY - Two people were taken to the hospital after a collision in Calloway County on Tuesday.

According to the Calloway County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 94 and Irvan Cobb Road just after noon on Tuesday.

a preliminary investigation showed that a Freightliner box truck driven by 29-year-old Jeremy Kennedy of Memphis, Tennessee was traveling northbound on Irvan Cobb Road. Kennedy attempted to cross Highway 94, but failed to yield the right of way to oncoming traffic. Nineteen-year-old Ciarra Alderman was traveling eastbound on Highway 94, and Kennedy's truck struck her car in the passenger side.

Alderman was transported by private vehicle to Murray-Calloway County Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

A passenger in Kennedy's truck, 56-year-old Eugene Caston of Memphis, was transported by ambulance to Murray-Calloway County Hospital.
