Two Injured in Calloway County Crash

CALLOWAY COUNTY, KY - A two vehicle crash Thursday morning in
Calloway County left two people injured.
According to the Calloway County
Sheriff's Office, the collision happened around 9 am at the
intersection of KY Hwy. 80 and Airport Road. Deputies said a vehicle
driven by 56-year-old Richard C. Simmons of Murray, was traveling
west on Hwy. 80 and was making a left hand turn onto Airport Road.
Simmons reportedly turned into the path
of a vehicle traveling east on Hwy. 80, driven by 32-year-old
Mitchell R. Irvan of Mayfield. Both drivers were transported to the
Murray-Calloway County Hospital for treatment of their injuries.
Simmons was later air-lifted to
Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville for further
treatment.
