Two teens were taken to the hospital after driving into a creek in Graves County Saturday morning.

Graves County deputies were called to the accident on Sharon Church Road between Hayes School Road and KY 121 South to find the vehicle in approximately four feet of water.

Deputies said the driver, 16-year-old Alexandria Hawkins of Mayfield, was out of the vehicle while the passenger, 16-year-old Taylor Balkey of Paducah, was still in the vehicle with her upper body out of the water. First responders were able to quickly get both girls to safety.

Deputies determined that Hawkins left the right side of the road, drove over a concrete head wall, then went airborne across the creek.

Hawkins and Balkey were taken to Jackson Purchase Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
