A traffic accident involving two vehicles Tuesday morning in Marshall County almost hit a school bus that was picking up students.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Department responded to Murray Highway near Cherry Hill Drive in Hardin. They determined that a school bus driven by Cheyanna Neuman was stopped on the northbound side of the road to load four children, with a vehicle stopped behind the bus, driven by Norma Reed.

As another northbound vehicle, driven by Brandy Johnson, approached the area, Johnson said her windshield was fogged up, so she was adjusting her defroster. Her vehicle struck the back of Reed's vehicle, and pushed it along the right side of the bus.

Neuman said the car skidded past the loading door of the bus just after the last child got on board. Police say Reed's vehicle did not hit the bus or any children.

Reed and Johnson were taken to Marshall County Hospital's emergency room for treatment of minor injuries.
