UPDATE: Jason Arkenberg, who had escaped from the Crittenden County Detention Center Sunday morning, is now back in custody.

Arkenberg was apprehended just after 3:30 Sunday afternoon by the Marion Police and Crittenden County Sheriff's Departments. The escapee was located at the Turner & Conyers Sawmill, which is located on US 60 west of Marion.

Arkenberg was charged with Escape 2nd degree, two counts of Burglary 3rd degree, Criminal Mischief 3rd degree, and Theft by Unlawful Taking (under $500).

Arkenberg was returned to the Crittenden County Detention Center.


ORIGINAL STORY:

The Kentucky State Police are currently searching for a man who escaped from the Crittenden County Detention Center.

KSP were notified early Sunday morning that Jason Scott Arkenberg of Louisville had walked away from the jail.

Arkenberg, who was serving time for arson, receiving stolen property, and fleeing or evading police, was last seen near the State Highway Garage in Marion. At that time he was wearing white jail clothing with "Trustee" printed on the garment. KSP reports that he may have acquired camouflage overalls since his escape.

Arkenberg is reported to be a white male, 5'6", 190 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.
