Four people have now been charged after a robbery and officer shooting in Hopkinsville on Monday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say they were called to the Walmart on Clinic Drive about 1:30 am, and the victim said someone stole their Chevy Tahoe and fled, possibly accompanied by a black Dodge truck. When both vehicles were spotted about an hour later, police tried to pull them over, but they fled. The Tahoe got away but was later recovered in Clarksville. Police deployed spike strips on the truck, and say the driver began firing a weapon, striking Hopkinsville Police Officer Jeremy Davidson in the head and arm.

Davidson was taken to a Nashville Hospital but could be released as early as Tuesday, according to WKDZ.

Police say about they got another call about a stolen vehicle about 8:30 am from a victim at the Waffle House on Fort Campbell Boulevard. That vehicle was later spotted in Clarksville by the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department. Public Information Officer Sandra Brandon says 28-year-old Keith Allen Kuzyk was arrested on a felony evading charge after spotting him and trying to pull him over.

Brandon told WKDZ, "Deputies with our office deployed some spike strips to slow the vehicle down, and then a deputy with the Christian County Sheriff's Office was able to safely pit the vehicle and bring it to a stop, and he was taken into custody."

She said Kuzyk will be extradited to Christian County, where he faces additional charges of 1st degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, 1st degree wanton endangerment, 1st degree robbery, 2nd degree assault, 1st degree fleeing or evading police, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, receiving stolen property under $10,000, theft by unlawful taking of an automobile over $10,000 and two counts of attempted murder of a police officer.

Three others were also arrested by Hopkinsville Police: 24-year-old September Neblett was arrested for receiving stolen property under $10,000 and 1st degree robbery (complicity); 25-year-old Autumn Neblett for 1st degree robbery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and receiving stolen property under $10,000; 19-year-old Anthony Johnson for 1st degree robbery, 1st degree fleeing or evading police in a vehicle, and receiving stolen property under $10,000.

In their press release, Hopkinsville Police did not elaborate on how Johnson and the Nebletts were caught.

Original Story:
Police in western Kentucky say a suspect shot and wounded a police officer during a robbery pursuit.

Hopkinsville Police Chief Clayton Sumner says Officer Jeremy Davidson was shot in the head and arm Monday. He's been with the department 3 to 4 years.

Sumner says two vehicles were involved in a robbery at a Walmart and separate police chases ensued. Davidson had attempted a traffic stop on one of the vehicles when the suspect started shooting. Sumner says Davidson is in good condition at a hospital in Nashville. WKDZ reports he has a wife and children.

In Tennessee, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office says in a news release one of the suspects was later captured in Cunningham, Tennessee.

She said Kuzyk will be extradited to Christian County.

Last March, an off-duty Hopkinsville officer was fatally shot and a suspect was later killed by law enforcement officials in Tennessee.
