Verizon Wireless has expanded its 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network in Murray and Mayfield. Verizon’s 4G LTE network extends coverage to Murray State University, along State Route 80 between Mayfield and Kentucky Lake, and along U.S. Highway 641 between Hardin and Puryear, TN.

Customers in the covered area can now use Verizon 4G LTE devices to surf the Internet, stream music and video at speeds up to 10 times faster than on the 3G network.

“Consumers and business users across Kentucky are increasingly relying on tablets, smartphones, smart accessories and data-consuming apps and functions to stay organized, connected and entertained,” said Verizon president John Granby. “We’ve invested more than $417 million in Kentucky since 2000 to stay ahead of these consumer trends. The expansion in the Murray area underscores our belief that 4G LTE delivers the best value for all our customers by maximizing the performance of their wireless devices.”
