Williams Sentenced to 12 Years for Car Wreck

BENTON, KY - Michael Williams was sentenced to 12 years in prison Tuesday in Marshall Circuit Court for a car wreck that left 2 people dead and injured 1.

The September 2011 crash along U.S. 68 in Marshall County killed Kaytlin Lamb and Michael Hoy Jr. Another passenger, Billy Humphrey Jr., was injured.
 
Members of Lamb’s family were present as Judge Dennis Foust handed down the sentence.
 
Williams pleaded guilty to six charges arising from the wreck, including second-degree manslaughter and wanton endangerment. He admitted to drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana before driving. The commonwealth and Williams’ attorney, James Burkeen, agreed on a 12-year sentence with him being eligible for parole after 2 years 5 months.
