A Caldwell County woman has been arrested on charges related to her purchase of firearms.
Kentucky State Police say they have been investigating a February 25 burglary in Lyon County, and say that 31-year-old Joni S. Dowell of Princeton fraudulently bought guns for two other people, one of whom was a convicted felon. Troopers say the firearms were bought using stolen money.
State Police got a warrant for Dowell's arrest on charges of fraudulent firearms transaction and receiving stolen property under $10,000. Both crimes are listed as felonies.
Police say Dowell was arrested Tuesday in Princeton, and was taken to Caldwell County Jail. Princeton Police helped at the scene, along with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
State Police say the investigation is continuing and more charges in the case are pending.
