Woman Charged with DUI, Assault After Wreck

A Graves woman was arrested on DUI, assault and other charges following a one-vehicle crash Saturday morning.

According to the Graves County Sheriff's Office, the wreck happened just after 7 am on Fairbanks Road near Podunk. Deputies said 43-year-old Lisa Young's vehicle left the road and overturned onto its right side, trapping her inside.

Mayfield EMS/Fire personnel had to extricate Young from the vehicle. Police said Young was very disorderly and combative and an EMS medic was reportedly assaulted during the extrication process.

Young was arrested after she was removed from the vehicle and transported to Jackson Purchase Medical Center for treatment. She was later released to be lodged at the Graves County Jail.

She was charged with the disorderly conduct, terroristic threatening, DUI second offense – aggravated circumstances, possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle, third degree assault, tampering with physical evidence and resisting arrest.
