Kentucky State Police arrested a stranded driver Wednesday, after police say a trooper found drugs during a search of the vehicle.
Just before 10 am, a trooper stopped to help what he believed to be a stranded driver on Highway 45 North in Graves County.
After stopping to assist, the officer thought the driver of the vehicle, 49-year-old Sonya Hobbs might be under the influence of drugs. Hobbs reportedly gave troopers consent to search her vehicle, where they found suspected methamphetamine, as well as numerous items of drug paraphernalia.
Forty-nine year old Hobbs was arrested for driving under the influence first offense, failure to notify DOT of address change, possession of a controlled substance first degree (methamphetamine), and possession of drug paraphernalia.
KSP was assisted by the Graves County Sheriff Department and the Mayfield Police Department.
