A Puryear, TN woman was hurt Saturday in a Calloway County crash involving a deer.

On Saturday, Calloway County Sheriff's deputies responded to a single vehicle crash with injuries on US Highway 641 South, just north of Lauring Drive. Deputies said that when they arrived, they discovered that Helen Newsome of Puryear had been driving south when a deer ran out in front of her vehicle, causing her to swerve off the road. Newsome's vehicle went into a ditch and rolled over on its side.

Newsome was taken to Murray Calloway County Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
