A Graves County jury convicted 48-year-old Tammy Roberts of wanton murder in February. On Tuesday, Roberts was sentenced to 20 years in prison. She must serve a minimum of 85 percent of her sentence.
Police say Roberts stabbed James Pinion during an argument in February 2017. Deputies found Pinion bleeding on the kitchen floor, and he was taken to Jackson Purchase Medical Center, where he died a short time later.
An autopsy revealed that Pinion died from sharp force trauma to the chest. Police said Pinion suffered a knife wound to his upper chest.
