Separate crashes in Marshall County left two local women behind bars.

The first crash happened Friday around 9:45 pm on US 68, where Marshall County sheriff's deputies found a vehicle off the road. Deputies said the driver, 49-year-old Laura Jean Thurman of Benton, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The second crash happened Monday morning in Draffenville. Deputies said a vehicle driven by 31-year-old Ashley A. Pyles of Paducah swerved into another vehicle. Pyles was charged with DUI and no operators license.

Both women were lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.
