Paducah just hasn't had much luck at getting warm holiday weather lately.

Halloween was one of the top 5 coldest ever, at 20 degrees below normal. Veterans Day was 10 degrees colder than usual. And Thanksgiving Day this year also looks to be 8 to 10 degrees on the cold side.

In fact, the month of November will go down in the frigid column of Paducah records. Before this week, only 5 of 24 November days saw a high temperature that was above average. On November 12, Paducah was 34 degrees below normal; 22 degrees below normal on November 13; and 20 degrees below normal on November 8.

Paducah's usual high temperature during the week when Thanksgiving is observed ranges from 52 to 55 degrees. Today's forecast is for a high of 43 at Barkley Field.

Today's high will be recorded as one of the fifteen coldest out of 81 Thanksgiving Days on record in Paducah.

The record high for Thanksgiving is 74 degrees set in 1941; Paducah reached 70 most recently in 2010.

The coldest Thanksgiving high on record happened in 1958, at 33 degrees; Paducah fell into the 30s most recently in 2014.

Oddly enough, there has only been one Thanksgiving in Paducah that saw measurable snow -- 1.3 inches in 1950. Only four of the past 15 holidays have had any measurable rainfall; there is a slight chance for some showers today.

Temperatures could recover back to above normal levels with a rainy 61 on Saturday, but then back to the 40s for most of next week.
