Executive Resigns in Wake of Laser Pointer Case
By AP
ST. LOUIS, MO - There is more fallout from a laser pointer incident at Busch Stadium - the resignation of a health care company executive.

The Mercy Health executive was in a ballpark suite on Monday along with 17-year-old Eric Bogard, who is charged with ordinance violations for allegedly directing a laser pointer at a San Francisco Giants pitcher.

The executive's name was not released. Police say the executive became confrontational when police went to the Mercy-owned suite after Cardinals manager Mike Matheny identified the source of the laser pointer.

Bogard's attorney has said he did not intend to point the laser at players.

Mercy said in a statement it holds itself to high standards of leadership and community responsibility.
