A popular restaurant in the region is not closing, in spite of a social media link and website article.

According to a Wednesday Facebook post by Lambert's Cafe in Sikeston, an article saying the restaurant will close on September 30 is fake news.

A portion of their post says, "We have had several messages about the post circulating on Facebook stating that after 60 years we will be closing on September 30. This is indeed fake news and we wanted to address the issue on our page. WE ARE NOT closing and we are still throwing rolls!!"

They included a screen grab of the fake story, which links to a website that allows anyone to generate a fake news story and share it on social media.

Lambert's also has locations in Ozark, Missouri and Foley, Alabama.
