LOUISVILLE, KY - The American Heart Association's go red for women movement encourages all women in Kentucky to help America go red this year.
Friday, February 1, is national Wear Red Day. This is the tenth year for the event.
Currently, the American Heart Association estimates that approximately eight million women in the United States are living with heart disease, but only one in six women believes that heart disease is a great threat to her health. In fact, heart disease is the nation's number one killer of women.
The American Heart Association is the nation's oldest and largest voluntary health organization. For more information, visit americanheart.org.
