Multiple news sources report that the newly-named Hostess Brands, LLC, who bought the company for $410 million, will re-open four bakeries over the next 2-1/2 months.
The company will begin hiring in Columbus, GA, Emporia, KS, Schiller Park, IL, and Indianapolis, IN. They are also considering re-opening a plant in Los Angeles.
A company spokesperson said they do not expect the estimated 1,500 workers to be union members. Striking union bakers forced the original Hostess company, which had already declared bankruptcy, to close in 2012, causing Twinkies, Ho-Ho's and other snacks to disappear from shelves.
