One Dead in Southeast Missouri Truck Stop Shooting

The New Madrid County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting in Marston last weekend where one person died.

According to KFVS, the New Madrid County Sheriff’s Office received a call Sunday morning at approximately 3:00 am, about a gunshot victim at the Pilot Truck Stop in Marston.

When deputies arrived they found the victim, Datrae D. Hicks, had suffered a gunshot wound.

Hicks was taken to an area hospital where he later died.

The New Madrid County Coroner has scheduled an autopsy for Tuesday, and the New Madrid County Sheriff’s Office reports that an arrest has been made.
