Romney Criticizes Obama for Not Meeting Netanyahu

NEW YORK, NY - Republican Mitt Romney is criticizing President Barack Obama for not planning to meet in person with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu next week, calling it "confusing and troubling."

Romney said at a New York fundraiser Friday that Israel is America's "closest ally" and "best friend in the Middle East." He urged Obama to meet with Netanyahu surrounding the start of United Nations General Assembly meetings next week.

The White House has denied published reports that Obama had rejected Netanyahu's request for a meeting with the president in Washington next week, saying no such request was made or rejected.

The White House says Obama and Netanyahu spoke for an hour Tuesday night and reaffirmed their countries' commitment to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.

  I think he should have had that meeting and told Netanyahu that it was OK to go ahead and bomb Iran but to remember that when you make your bed, you lie in it. Don't expect any more American money or lives to protect you. Israel has several nuclear weapons so let them defend themselves.

  Joe S. Who's revising history? The Arab countrys surrounding Israel were massing forces at their borders to attack & destroy Israel for good. Israel attacked & kicked their tails. Then after the war was over they returned the land they had captured.

  Bobby M; I am not the worlds best at spelling but I will tell you how I remember how to spell Israel. think of the three it was named after, one goddess and two gods. ISis, RA, and EL. Knowing where the name came from helps me spell it.

  Yes, lets make the palestinians defending their HOUSES that they should be the ones to lay down on the ground, while the bull dozers demolish their property. That's a great idea! Lets try that stateside, and see if the same mentality works. X-tians lay on the ground and put down your God and your guns, while we (secularists) bull doze your churches and houses, and replace them with science based museums supporting evolution and hospitals that don't put bibles in their waiting rooms.

  So what happened in 1967, Bobby? I thought the Israelis forceably claimed the official Palestinian land away from the residents and then begin putting Jewish settlements on it for the past 40 years. That sounds like Jewish aggression to me! If someone took your land against your will, wouldn't you be angry about it?

  V actually thinks Isreal is the aggerssor? Anybody that as paid attention, even in the slightest, knows that if the Palestinian supporters laid down their arms there would be peace; if Isreal laid down their arms there would be no Isreal.

  It takes a lot of chutzpah for President Obama to criticize Mitt Romney's supposed lack of foreign policy experience. When it was pointed out in 2008 that Obama had no foreign policy experience it was mocked.

  Israel is doing to Palestinians exactly what Hitler did to Jews in WW2. America should immediately stop funding Israel and issue trade sanctions against them. They're a disgrace that's bull-dozing down housing in order to force palestinians out of their homes, with US money.

  Romney has my vote. I for one do not have amnesia when it comes to the past 4 years of Obama in office. The list is long for his incompetence. If you are undecided at this point as to what you want in a president...just don't vote. I for one want to let Obama go. America can't afford Obama's policies. We are BROKE people.

  I think the story makes it pretty clear: This is much ado about nothing. If Obama and Netanyahu are talking, they perhaps did not see the need to meet in person. They've met before and already have a rapport. When a candidate tries to make an issue of every time a prominent elected foreign official steps foot somewhere in the US (noting that the visit isn't even to DC), it's pretty sad. We are electing a President, not a Welcome Wagon owner.

  I can not believe Obama went to bed and did nothing to secure our embassy. He should have put on his fightin clothes, grabbed a rifle, had them fire up his plane and gone over there to shoot those guys himself. By the way what is the Pentagon, etc for spending our money.
