A spokeswoman for the National Security Council says the U.S. is "considering a range of options.'' Hackers broke into the entertainment firm's computer system and exposed sensitive documents. The hackers also made terror threats against moviegoers because of the film "The Interview.'' The film is a comedy about the assassination of leader Kim Jong Un.
The unidentified hackers had demanded that Sony cancel its release of the movie. Sony cancelled the Christmas Day opening of the film because of concerns about violence.
It later said there are no further plans to release the film. Cinemark Theatres, which own the Cinemark Paducah, announced they would not to show the film prior to Sony's official announcement.
