Republican Jason Plummer says the overhaul is "unworkable" legislation that's not right for Americans, and he thinks it must be repealed.
His rival in the 12th Congressional District, Democrat Bill Enyart, says federal lawmakers now should focus on creating jobs. He says "Washington can't waste any more time trying to score political points and keeping our middle class waiting."
The district stretches from the Illinois suburbs of St. Louis to the state's southernmost tip and encompasses a large swath of territory that's economically stressed.
