Springfield, IL - Services for Illinois veterans are getting more than $330,000 in grants from the sale of scratch-off lottery tickets.

The Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs announced the new round of grants Friday.

Seven non-profit organizations are receiving money from the sale of Veterans Cash lottery tickets. They include the Salvation Army in Springfield, which will get funds to support Sangamon County homeless veterans with food, shelter, clothing, counseling and job training.

A Chicago group called Thresholds is getting a grant to support similar services for homeless veterans.

A Woodstock group called Family Alliance is getting a grant to provide day care services for elderly veterans in McHenry, Boone, Kane and Lake counties.

A veteran's affairs grant committee reviews the requests for money and makes the awards.
