Chicago Lawyer Says He May Run For Jackson's Seat
By AP
CHICAGO, IL - As Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr.'s political future remains uncertain, one prominent Chicago attorney says he's interested in his congressional seat.

Sam Adam Jr. was a onetime attorney for ex-Gov. Rod Blagojevich and R&B singer R. Kelly.

He tells the Chicago Sun-Times that he's considering a run for the Chicago-area district because he thinks it needs better representation.

Jackson has been on a hushed medical leave since June. He was released from the Mayo Clinic Tuesday, but his office gave no indication of when or if he'll return to work. Jackson has been receiving treatment for bipolar disorder.

The Chicago Democrat also remains under a House Ethics Committee's investigation for links to Blagojevich, who's serving a prison sentence.

If Jackson resigns, Gov. Pat Quinn would call a special election.
