Hudson Family Killer Gets Three Life Sentences

CHICAGO, IL - Cook County Circuit Judge George Burns told the man convicted of killing actress Jennifer Hudson's family members that he doesn't have an "ounce of remorse" in his soul.
The judge made the statement Tuesday during the sentencing hearing for William Balfour. Balfour was given three consecutive life sentences in the deaths of Hudson's mother, brother and nephew. He also was given an additional 120 years for other related charges. The judge also told Balfour he has the "heart of an arctic night" and his soul is "as barren as dark space."
Jennifer Hudson was in the courtroom sitting next to her sister. At one point she dabbed her eyes with a tissue.
Balfour spoke, saying he is innocent, offering his condolences and adding he still loves 7-year-old Julian King.
