Peterson Jurors end Day 1 with No Verdict
By AP
JOLIET, IL - Jurors at the murder trial of former suburban Chicago police officer Drew Peterson are going home without reaching a verdict after one day of deliberations.

They indicated just after 6 p.m. Wednesday that they would resume deliberations Thursday morning.

Peterson has pleaded not guilty to murdering Kathleen Savio in 2004. The 58-year-old was only charged only after his fourth wife, Stacy Peterson, disappeared in 2007.

The jury decided to go home after several notes back and forth with Judge Edward Burmila.

In one note, Burmila asked if jurors would like to order dinner. They replied by asking if they would be sequestered or if they could go home. When Burmila wrote back that they would not be sequestered, they said they would call it a day.
