Illinois State Police say Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner was not injured when the auto he was riding in was involved in a minor traffic accident in Chicago.

Director Hiram Grau said Wednesday the governor's motorcade was sitting at a red light on Randolph St. and Michigan Ave. on Wednesday when two vehicles that weren't part of the governor's motorcade collided. One of those vehicles spun out of control, slid across the intersection and struck the governor's vehicle as well as another vehicle in the motorcade.

Officials say neither Rauner nor any state police officers were injured, but the right bumper and fender area of the vehicle in which the governor was traveling was damaged.
