BOWLING GREEN, KY - Bowling Green is getting ready for its day in the spotlight as the "American Idol" bus rolls in for the Kentucky stop on its ten-city "small town auditions" tour.
 
The Fox reality series is looking for contestants for its 12th season, which is set to air starting in January.
 
Auditions are today in the city's downtown Fountain Square Park, and Fountain Square Business Association President Theresa Shea told the Daily News it will give the city a chance to show off what the downtown area has to offer.
 
Shea encouraged members of the association to decorate their businesses and have items priced at $5 to $10 for sale to take advantage of the influx of people and welcome the tour to the city.
