Beshear Reports Nearly $200,000 in Income in 2011

Gov. Steve Beshear and his wife reported nearly $200,000 in income on their latest joint federal income tax return.

Beshear publicly released the tax return on Friday, as he has done each year since he became governor.

The Beshears' total income included his gubernatorial salary of just more than $129,000, plus $45,000 in dividends and $24,000 in Social Security benefits.

The return shows the Beshears overpaid their taxes by more than $8,000 and received a refund for that amount.
