Kentucky Republican Gov. Matt Bevin said he is likely to run for re-election in 2019.

Bevin met with reporters on Friday to discuss his first year in office and look ahead to the 2017 legislative session. Asked if he would be interested in a job in the Donald Trump administration or running for the U.S. Senate should a seat become available, Bevin said he would "run for re-election before considering any of those other things."

Bevin said he has "no interest in doing anything outside of what I'm doing now, politically." He added that he misses the private sector.

Kentucky voters elected Bevin governor in 2015 following a failed primary challenge to U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell in 2014. Bevin, an investment manager, had never held elected office before.
