Dept. of Agriculture Open House Next Week

FRANKFORT, KY - Kentuckians will get an opportunity to visit the states agricultural department during an open house next week.

Agriculture Commissioner James Comer is inviting the public to visit the state's Agriculture Department next Tuesday, Oct. 15. Comer's office, located in Frankfort will open its doors for a behind the scenes look from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. eastern time.

Comer along with executive directors will detail the department's operations and services during a special presentation. The presentation will include details on the Kentucky Proud farm marketing program along with highlights of the department’s regular duties.

Those include monitoring price scanners, motor fuel and pumps, eggs, amusement park rides and pesticides. In addition, Kentucky's Agricultural Department protects livestock herds from animal diseases, operates livestock shows and assists in county fairs across the state.
