Dr. Stack Announces New School Regulation

FRANKFORT - During Governor Andy Beshear's Monday update, Dr. Steven Stack announced a new emergency regulation which addresses COVID-19 reporting in the state's schools.

Under the new regulation, no later than September 28, parents or guardians will be required to report a student's positive COVID-19 test to the school within 24 hours.

All schools will be required to report the COVID-19 case information through a secure website, Monday through Friday, every day that school is in session.

Beshear announced 342 new cases of the virus, bringing the total number of cases to 57,282. He noted that 53 of the new cases were from children 18 and younger.

Additonally, Beshear reported five new deaths. This brings the total number of deaths in the state to 1,065. The new deaths include a 71-year-old woman from Christian County.

At least 10,918 Kentuckians have tested positive for the virus.

Kentucky's positivity rate currently stands at 4.17 percent.
