It's the end of a forgettable time in state government as a number of high quality guns and knives go up for auction next month.

13 Remington rifles and 16 Case knives will go on auction May 5th. They are leftover gifts Richie Farmer intended to give to out-of-state guests, but were never handed out.

The items were purchased in bulk but the gun are valued at $1000 each and the knives about $100 each. All of them have the "Kentucky Proud" logo stamped on them.

Agriculture Commission Jamie Comer says proceeds from the auction will be used to cover the cost of an urban agriculture program he will soon announce.

Those interested in the items must be present to bid at the Kentucky Dept. of Fish and Wildlife Resources headquarters in Frankfort.
