Former Soldier Convicted in Porn Case

HOPKINSVILLE, KY - A former Ft. Campbell soldier has been convicted in a child pornography case that began as an undercover investigation three years ago.
A Christian County jury on Tuesday found 27-year-old Michael Myers of Oak Grove, Ky., guilty on 12 counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor. The jury recommended a sentence of one year per count to run concurrently. Myers will also be required to register as a sex offender for 20 years.
The case against Myers is the result of an undercover investigation begun in September 2009 by Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway's Cybercrimes Unit. Myers was indicted by a Christian County grand jury in January, 2010.
His sentencing is scheduled for December 5.
