Iraqi Facing Terror Charges Moving From Isolation
By AP
LOUISVILLE, KY - An Iraqi man facing terrorism charges in Kentucky will be moved from isolation at a jail until he faces trial in August.

Mohanad Shareef Hammadi had been held separate from other inmates at the Grayson County Jail since his arrest in May 2011.

During a hearing on Wednesday in federal court in Louisville, defense attorney James Earhart said he would not seek to have the 24-year-old Hammadi released pending trial as part of a deal with prosecutors.

Hammadi is set for trial Aug. 27 in Bowling Green on 12 charges, including attempting to send material support such to al-Qaida. He pleaded not guilty to a superseding indictment on Wednesday.

A co-defendant in the case, 31-year-old Waad Ramadan Alwan, has pleaded guilty and is awaiting sentencing Oct. 2.
