FRANKFORT, KY - Last year's exports have set a record in Kentucky, reaching $25.3 billion in sales of Kentucky-made products and services. It is the third consecutive year that Kentucky's exports have broken records.
Gov. Steve Beshear's office says the total is 14 percent more than 2012 when exports totaled $22.1 billion. The average export growth rate nationwide was about 2 percent, and Kentucky had the second highest increase in the country.
Aerospace products led Kentucky's export growth with $5.6 billion, followed by motor vehicles and parts with $5.5 billion and synthetic rubber and resin with $1.4 billion.
Glass was the export that accounted for the highest percentage increase at nearly 71 percent from the previous year.
