Mother Arrested for Leaving Kids Alone in Hot Home

BOWLING GREEN, KY - Police in south central Kentucky have arrested a woman who is the mother of some of the 19 children who were left alone in a hot, filthy home near Bowling Green.

Police found the kids, including an infant, Monday night after they had been left in the home for a week.

The Daily News reports 32-year-old Jackie Farah has been charged with 14 counts of criminal abuse and five counts of wanton endangerment. Farah returned from Chicago on Tuesday and went to the Warren County Sheriff's office, where she was charged.

Farah has been jailed without bond.

The children were treated at a hospital and placed in state custody. A neighbor says there were 13 children living in the house before six cousins came to visit for the summer.

  What I was talking about was the Headline. It says Hot Home. I am not defending anyone just saying that the headline was for sensationalism by saying hot home. If had said no food it would have been entirely different. There is a big difference in no air conditioning and no food. This article only says hot home and filthy home no details just the "sensational" terms.

  It wasn't just the heat Judy. They had no food or water. Other news sites reported the children were begging neighbors for food. Guess you had to do that too??

  This headline is set up for sensationalism. Leaving the kids alone is bad, the hot home part is what gets me. Guess what people my age grew up in hot homes with no air conditioning. Contrary to popular belief you can survive the heat without air conditioning, especially if you are accustomed to the heat.

  Most of the kids aren't hers. On other news sites said that these kids apparently are use to being left alone. Sick is correct. Hope they fry this woman. No regard for the lives and well being of children. One of them was 8 months old too.

  I guess all she cares about is the state and federal aid checks she gets monthly. She could care less about the children. This is sick! When is the insanity going to stop? It probably want unless we keep giving them money for not working and staying home making babies!
