A restored OH-23 Raven helicopter used as a utility, observation and medical evacuation aircraft during the Korean War is being dedicated today at Fort Campbell, where it will be permanently displayed on the Warrior Transition Battalion grounds.

Structural aircraft mechanics from Company B, 563rd Aviation Support Battalion, 159th Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division restored the OH-23 Raven on behalf of Warrior Transition Battalion soldiers at Fort Campbell.

The military post says the OH-23 Raven helped form the foundation of air medical evacuation seen now in the UH-60 Black Hawk. The Raven was used during the Korean War to pull soldiers from battle and carry them to a medical facility for treatment.

The dedication will be Wednesday afternoon at Fort Campbell.
