A US Navy spokesman has identified the sailor killed in a training exercise Wednesday night at Fort Knox in Kentucky. Seven others were injured.
Lt. David Lloyd, a spokesman for the Naval Special Warfare Group Two in Virginia Beach, Va., said the eight sailors were riding in a Humvee as part of a convoy on the post when the accident occurred Wednesday night.
The Navy identified the sailor as Jonathan H. Kaloust, a NAVY SEAL, based out of Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek in Fort Story, Virginia.
Lloyd said the cause of the accident remains under investigation and he had no other details.
Seven sailors sustained minor injuries and were treated and released from a hospital.
The US Navy has used Fort Knox as a training ground since World War II.
